The World Beyond the Veil
Soulfire takes place in a parallel version of Earth — one in which the gods of all religions exist simultaneously, without contradiction.
Every pantheon.
Every divine court.
Every afterlife.
They coexist in structured harmony.
In this world, the afterlife is not random. It is not uncertain. It is chosen.
A mortal who follows the code of their faith — to the letter — enters the afterlife aligned with that belief system. Divine law governs the transition. Order, not chaos, defines death.
The Immortal Souls
Immortal Souls are individuals who have died, yet continue to walk the world of the living.
They exist between states:
Not fully alive
Not fully dead
Bound to neither mortal limitation nor traditional afterlife
Immortal Souls cannot be harmed as living humans are. Physical injury means nothing to them.
Instead, damage is inflicted upon the soul itself.
Each Immortal Soul manifests a unique internal power — an ability shaped by:
The life they lived
The choices they made
The weight of their actions
Power is not granted arbitrarily. It is a reflection of identity.
Soulfire
Soulfire is one such manifestation.
It is a rare, pale white flame streaked with blue — cold to the touch, yet devastating in effect.
Unlike ordinary fire, Soulfire does not burn.
It freezes.
Anything touched by Soulfire is consumed in frost rather than flame. It attacks essence before matter — locking spirit and substance in crystalline stillness.
Soulfire is not learned.
It is awakened.
Order and Balance
The world of Soulfire is governed by divine balance.
The gods observe.
The afterlives function.
The boundary between realms remains structured.
Immortal Souls exist within that boundary — powerful, rare, and watched.
And when balance shifts, the consequences reach beyond death itself.
